What does the BVDC do for the Community?
- Educates the local communities about Deaf culture
- Provides American Sign Language classes locally
- Participates in panel discussions for interested parties
- Keeps people informed about legal rights for deaf and hard of hearing
- Serves as role models
- Advocates for the Deaf/HH community
- Acts as a clearinghouse to provide or recieve information about:
- Interpretive services
- Telecommunications devices & other relevant issues
- Deaf/HH events
- Other clubs, organizations, or agencies which are directly or indirectly involved in Deaf/HH Community
- And much more!
Goals for BVDC, its members, and its community:
- Social enrichment for parents of Deaf/HH/CI (Cochlear Implant) children
- Associate with other organizations/agencies such as:
- Outreach programs
- Idaho Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf
- Idaho Task Force
- Speech and audiology therapists
- Cochlear Implant therapists
- And many other non-profit organizations and government agencies
